Giving back to those who have helped you in the past, is one of the greatest feelings in the world (in my opinion). To know that once you were down on your luck and struggling in life and someone helped you freely and now you have been able to rise above and conquer all the challenges you have had, so now, you are able to help them when they are in need.

This time of the year (Thanksgiving is right around the "corner") really gets many of us thinking about the things we are thankful for. Well....I say that when I mean that many of us tend to forget to think about the things we are thankful for. All the blessings we have in our lives can sometimes be overlooked and taken for granted. I am definitely the first to admit that I have overlooked and taken many of my blessings for granted. I’m only human. But anyway, I think that Thanksgiving is an important time of the year to take the time to think about it all.

Think about your blessings, the things that you are grateful for (big and small things, silly things too, it doesn't matter as long as it is important to YOU). For example, something small and maybe silly to others is that I am thankful for cool mornings and warm coffee, and in southern Texas, we don't get that very often so I soak it up when it happens.

Make a list, write down your blessings. Sometimes this puts things more into perspective and into reality and realization.

I will be the first to list some things I am blessed with and thankful to have.

Things I am Blessed with and Thankful for:

1) My Husband

2) My Children

3) Our Pets

4) Our Home

5) Our means of transportation (car/truck, etc)

6) Our jobs/income

7) Our Extended Family

8) Nature and Animals

9) My Country (USA)

10) Sleep (I love some good rest 😋)

11) Music

I could continue with this list but it gets a little more personal and in-depth and well...I don't want to bore you with my extremely long list of big and small blessings and with the things that I am thankful for.

Back to talking about giving back. Have there been times in your life where you were in a tough rough spot in life and needed a little help that someone gave to you freely? Have you been able to give back to them? Have you considered giving back to them somehow? I think that it is important to go full circle with receiving and giving, it is super important to keep the love of our neighbors and friends close to our hearts. The world can already be a hard, stressful, challenging, unforgiving world, so why not bring a little light into the world with our actions?

Since Thanksgiving is near, I'd like to challenge you to give to someone (regardless if they have given to you before or not or helped you before or not). Give to them with a thoughtful and truly caring heart. It is something that I think we all need to do at some point in our lives. Just a small little letter to someone to say "Hey, I'm thinking of you," could mean something huge to someone, you never know.

So who is up for the challenge? I know I am. With this said, I know it is a tad bit early but I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving full of blessings and good times.
